Computer vision problem – Ambloypia

Since at least the age when I started to use computers I have had a series of problems with the use of computer screens for medium or long periods of hour. Conditional on the illuminating setup( which I will explain afterward ), I develop very harsh headaches that require me to abandon the screen altogether, and can expend several days in a daze or dizziness after a bout of computer utilize, my mind confounded, and I even find it difficult to think. A strong aching develops just behind my eyes, and they become glassed and tearful, as if water needs to be supplied from somewhere to freshen them, and they frequently turn red.

Prescription.

I have Hyperopia; Amblyopia os. My right eye is far superior to my left eye. My left eye is very blurry and I could not function with it alone. I wear my glasses merely for doing near-sighted work and don’t wear them for walking around, although I do wear them for driving( on the recommendation of an optician ). My prescription is as follows: SPH R: +2 L +4 CYL L-0. 5 AXS 165. However I have tried glass with this prescription and it is not ideal. My ideal prescription which I currently use is at the top of the list below, where I document all the different glass types that I have tried and well or poorly they worked for me.

What kind of computer use? I mean utilizing a computer for a length of hour where I have to manipulate things on screen. The biggest headaches come when I have to use term documents, jumping from one screen to another( control tab ), compare two different screens, or have to constantly focus and refocus my eyes, for example describing up an excel sheet that links to another set of data. But even tasks like writing an email became difficult and I feel those dim micro-strains that portend a subsequently headache when I type on the keyboard and watch a new letter appear onscreen. For some reason watching videos does not have the same effect, probably because the field of focus is wider.

Theories One theory is that- because there is such a huge contrast between the power of my eyes, whereby my left eye is basically lazy- then headaches arise when focusing given the fact that the right eye is doing much more run than the left eye.

Another theory proferred by an expert was that the problem could be the outcome of poor binocular teaming. It is true that my left or lazy eye tends to feel a lot of pain while using a computer, suggesting it is trying to do something separate to my good eye and the strain starts because there is a conflict between systems. I tried an experiment by patching the amblyotic eye for a while but this did not work, and may have resulted in a vertigo episode I had shortly after trying it.

What has not Worked.

At the moment, theories that I am not well aligned to its implementation of posture or that I work too hard etc. do not stand up, because in a specific environment I have no problem.

To rearticulate what has been tried and has not worked: – New glass lens( last upgrade was 2015) – New glasses frames- I have tried several different frames – Anti-Glare lens – Any orthopaedic solution( sitting away from computer, blinking, taking regular violates, differently sized screens etc .) – Any difference in computer screens- from perfect probook Mac to grainy Asus. No difference – Any change to the brightness or otherwise of the computer screen – I have tried flux software which imitations the outside ambience depending on the time of day, I have tried brightening and softening the screen, and I have tried high objective retina displays( the latter gave me even greater headaches) – Working for shorter periods on a computer screen- this does not matter, because under the incorrect lighting conditions the headaches will show after 20 minutes. Under the correct lighting conditions the headaches never come. There is no middle ground. – Patching amblyotic or non-amblyotic eye

I have also consulted with laser eye surgery professionals but ought to have deemed unsuitable due to my amblyopia, which cannot be treated employing this surgery. However one professional explained that in several years I might become suitable for’ replacement lens surgery’. What has Worked.

The only thing that has worked so far is working under a certain lighting condition- fluorescent lighting, or in a room completely covered in windows where I am facing away from the windows. And even there the problem manifests if the work is intense or incorporates small characters like composing a word document or coding.

My question is whether there is anything new that is likely to be done. Whether there is a possible solution out there that would allow me to use computers in any lighting surrounding without headache?

” Problem with new glasses, those don’t suit so well – eyes tire very easily, headaches, dry eyes. Have had different glass prescriptions but neither of them worked as good as old glass. I recommend to go back to the optical store and choice very similar frames and powers as the old glasses were. That may help. Left eye has amblyopia( lazy eye ).
